My preciousssss. Holy shit you guys! My uncle, who deals cameras and other electronics, called me this morning to tell me that he possibly found a deal for me in a digital camera. In June I had asked him to keep an eye open for me for a deal on a solid digital SLR for about $400-$500. Either Canon or Nikon would do.
Today, he totally delivered.
Oh god, it's so pretty! I can't wait to get it into my grubby hands and to start taking pictures of everything that moves. And everything that doesn't move. Still lifes, ya know? I am SO going to be that annoying camera lady. I don't care.
I'm secretly glad that it's not a Nikon, because since it's a Canon I can interchange the lenses with the 35mm I already have. The camera I am getting is slighty used, about a year old, and it's in excellent condition since it's coming from one of my uncle's buddies who he trades cameras with -- basically they buy cameras not for using them, but just to have them and then barter with them for better cameras. I don't know. I can't imagine having a camera like that and not using it. But soon it will be mine, so it matters not!
I'm getting it for, uh, less than the price that is listed on Amazon, but more than I really want to pay. But whatever. It's an awesome deal and I know it, and since I'm no fool I told my uncle to purchase it on my behalf. I'll pick it up Labor Day weekend when I go home for family reunions.
In the meantime, if you need me, I can be found working the corner in order to pay for it.
