Blobfest 2009

The Bad things about Blobfest 2009:

• No Renee. Lack of Renee sort of breaks Blobfest for me.
  
  
• Despite being "sold out," the crowd inside of the theater seemed sparse to me.
  
  
• Furthermore, there were not enough people dancing. Not enough twisting and no one to do the Girl In Gold Boots dance for.
  
  
• THAT GUY. You know the one. Yes, him.
  
  
• No tin foil hat parade.
  
  
• No scream contest.
  
  
• The Epic Running Out was sort of unexpected and instead of being lead by Steve McQueen Look-Alike, was spurred by a man in a chicken costume.
  
  
• Blob Ball was "sold out," and they wouldn't let us in.
  
  
• Ended up in an alternate bar where Brisket happened to be. Despite not speaking to him/him not seeing me/ignoring each other, I felt shaky and shitty. Thank god I didn't see him hitting on a girl or something.

The Good Things about Blobfest 2009:

• Taking Sarah for her first Blobfest experience.
  
  
• Blobtinis
  
  
• Drinking Boone's Apple Farm from a paper bag whilst waiting in line.
  
  
• The Neanderthals.
  
  
• Ghoul-A-Go-Go, and the hotness of the Invisible Man.
  
  
• People wearing their tin foil hats anyway.
  
  
• After the running and screaming from the theater, seeing a man surprise his girlfriend by getting down on one knee and proposing. She said yes, and the crowd chorused in a sigh of Awwwws. My heart pinged a little and I hope someday some guy I love proposes to me in some crazy, dorky, intense way like that. Awesome.
  
  
• Spending some quality time with Kelly, who I hadn't seen in ages.
  
  
• Half-priced drinks.
  
  
• Running into a cute guy from awhile ago, whom I shall dub The Guitarist. The Guitarist recognized me first, and before I could even stand up was all over me to give me a hug. Chatted for a bit, and that felt nice.

Bummed I can't make the street fair tomorrow, which I expect to be good, or at least the same as last year. Oh well. Next year I am buying tickets for everything early, and hopefully Renee will come out for a visit.
