Read Books, They're Good for Your Mind
Or, rather, Donate Books, It's Good For Your Soul.

Photobucket

Every year the Dewey Donation System puts together book drive for a school or library in need. It's one of my favorite charities and I try to make a point in donating, even if it's just one children's book. It's done some amazing things in the past -- donating books libraries decimated by hurricane Katrina and schools demolished by the Tsunami in 2005. Most of the time the libraries being donated to don't even know they've been chosen until the drive is over -- and then they get a lovely surprise.

So why don't you take a moment to put some warm fuzzies in your cold pricklies by donating a book or two?

Thanks! You look pretty.

Hey Katie,
This looks like a really awesome charity, I have a couple books I was actually going to drop off at my local library today so they could sell them, I'll find a way to donate to this. My apartment has been going through cleaning hell the past couple Tuesdays that I have had off, it now looks lovely.
Anyway, I wanted to pass on a really cool site I thought you would like. Not only is she crafty, but sh ehas a year-long goal of being crafty. she doesn't post every day, but she creates something for each day. Check her out, my feelings aren't hurt if you think it's dumb.
peace
