Sweet Stanley, NO!
Stanley, my beloved iBook is sick! Last night I was using Stanley for perfectly normal uses – internet, iTunes,-- and it started running all slow and wonky with me. So I tried to do a restart, but it wouldn’t let me. So I forced it to turn off and when I restarted after the OS X screen, instead of my desktop popping up, a black screen of DOOM popped up and began issuing statements like “Printer drive failed error script” and then promptly froze. So I forced it off again, and when I restarted everything started as normal. Everything seemed to be working. I was wigged about it though, so I shut it down (normally this time) and brought it into work this morning for our Mac guy to look at. After starting up and everything seemingly working, I decided to back up my important stuff to the server, just in case.

I am so glad I did.

No sooner had I done this, I disconnected from the server and Stanley went ugly. I went to go shut down, and the screen started fritzing and going all wavy and jumpy. And then, when I tried the forced shut down, the screen when slowly white. It was creepy. By this time Tamika had joined me (my cries of “Nononononohnooooooo!” might have clued her in) and together we got the desktop to show back up, but everything was frozen. So we finally forced it off.

I suspect that this is all my fault, overloading the iBook with too many programs, plus still using OS 9 for all of my Microsoft Office. And! I just added Limewire, and I had downloaded my first song from there last night (from Fanaa, OK, you can’t get it in the US, DON’T JUDGE ME) and I suspect I had picked up something icky when I downloaded the file. Fuck you, Limewire. The one time I download music without permission. Me and my Catholic guilt.

Oohh, Mac guy is here. Keep your fingers crossed everyone!
